Importing data from an excel file cells are becoming " " after the import?

I'm importing data from an excel file and I just noticed that some cells are becoming " " after the import

The data in excel column which contains:
12 
Test
4 
2 
OUTPUT in Grid View:
12 

4 
2

Please reply to me only if any knows the solution.

Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Jet/4.0/Engines/Excel/ImportMixedTypes

TypeGuessRows: setting the value to 0 (zero) will force ADO to scan all column values before choosing the appropriate data type.

ImportMixedTypes: should be set to value 'Text' i.e. import mixed-type columns as text.
